About...us?
It's not about us. It's about Jesus.
But since you clicked...
We are not Catholic, Protestant, Pentecostal, JW, SDA, Calithumpian, and we're definitely not in the entertainment business. We're just a group of Christians — followers of Christ — who have learned to love and trust him over and above any ordinary human, or human doctrines and ideology. If you're wondering what we believe, you can read it in the pages of scripture, particularly the new testament scriptures. That's the closest we have to a "creed", and it's what we hold to. But we answer the more common questions we're asked here.
We're a diverse lot. We range from infants to grandparents; we have a variety of religious backgrounds; a variety of ethnic backgrounds; a variety of educational qualifications; a variety of occupations; we have some deaf and some hearing; some tall and some short. But we do have this in common...
We’re living for Jesus, and he has forgiven us of our sins.
In other words, we are simply Christians, following Christ — a non-denominational assembly of Christ’s followers (Acts 11:26; Romans 16:16). While we are blessed to fellowship others in the body of Christ, we have no organisational ties to any other congregation. We know of about 80 similar groups around Australia, but hope there are many more. In accordance with the scriptures, we get together to teach and encourage one another. Our largest gathering is on the first day of the week (Sunday), which is at a hall that will fit us in while we break bread together, sing, pray and are encouraged by God’s word. We have an Auslan interpreter to translate to and from those of us who are deaf.
The hall where we usually meet on Sundays at 10:00am is:
Carrum Hall, cnr Walkers & Dyson Rds, Carrum. But we won't be there on 13 October, as we will be visiting a group in the northern suburbs to encourage them.
